VPFlowScope DP — differential pressure flow meter for hot and saturated air

The VPFlowScope DP is a patented differential pressure flow meter built to measure hot, 100% saturated compressed air — typically at the compressor outlet, where thermal flow meters fail. A 4-in-1 device, it measures flow, pressure, temperature and totalized flow, with a built-in display and data logger.

Field problem

Right at the compressor outlet, before the dryer, the air is hot and saturated with water. Thermal mass flow meters become inaccurate there: they assume dry air. The VPFlowScope DP uses differential pressure to measure in these extreme conditions — exactly where knowing the real flow the compressor produces matters most.

Measurable benefits

You get flow at the source, in 100% saturated conditions, to compare actual production against the consumption measured downstream and expose losses (over-hungry dryers, failing check valves, leaking drains). A factory-programmed gas correction factor delivers accuracy on the order of ± 5% (typical field accuracy of an insertion probe, depending on installation), and every device ships with its calibration report and a compression fitting with safety cable.

Frequently asked questions

Why a differential pressure meter instead of a thermal one?

Thermal mass flow meters (VPFlowScope M, Probe) require dry air, free of droplets. At the compressor outlet the air is hot and 100% saturated: the VPFlowScope DP, differential pressure, is built precisely for those conditions.

Does it tolerate water and oil?

Water droplets are allowed. However, excessive oil or water carryover is not permitted. Onyx M3 validates the measuring point at quoting.

What accuracy?

About ± 5% (typical field accuracy of an insertion probe, depending on installation), thanks to a factory-programmed gas correction factor for common industrial gases. A calibration report ships with every device.
